One Year of Alpenglow: Lessons in Growth, Grounding, and Opening Up
A reflection on what it means to move, recover, and thrive - together.
As Alpenglow Wellness celebrates its first anniversary, I’ve been reflecting on the lessons, growth, and transformation this past year has brought. From launching Basecamp to hosting wellness workshops and connecting with an incredible community, this year reminded me that wellness is less about doing more - and more about learning how to be. In 2026, I’m excited to expand my in-person offerings across the Reno–Tahoe area and open my work to everyone seeking nervous system support, movement, and mindful recovery.
Dear friends,
One year ago, I opened Alpenglow Wellness with a simple hope - to create a space where movement, breath, and nervous system awareness could meet real life. I didn’t know what that first year would hold, but I knew it would require courage, curiosity, and a willingness to begin.
What I’ve learned since then has been more humbling and expansive than I ever expected.
This year taught me that growth doesn’t always look like more. Sometimes, it looks like refining, pausing, and remembering why you started. It taught me to trust the slower seasons - the ones that ask you to rest, to re-center, to let your next steps rise naturally instead of forcing them into form.
It also reminded me that wellness isn’t a fixed destination. It’s a living rhythm - a daily relationship with our bodies, breath, and environment. Through every workshop, retreat, and connection this year, I’ve seen how much we all crave regulation and resilience - not perfection or performance, but a steady inner compass that lets us keep showing up for what we love.
Over this first year, Alpenglow has grown from an idea on paper into a living, breathing community. Together we’ve explored what it means to move better, recover deeply, and thrive outdoors. We’ve built Basecamp. We’ve practiced slowing down. We’ve learned that strength and softness can coexist.
And as I step into year two, I’m opening my work even wider - welcoming everyone into this space. Because nervous system regulation, mindful movement, and breath-based recovery aren’t just for one group. They’re for anyone ready to meet themselves with awareness and care.
In the coming year, I’ll be offering more in-person workshops throughout the Reno–Tahoe area - blending movement, breathwork, and education on the mind-body connection. These sessions will be designed to meet you where you are, whether you’re an athlete, a professional, or simply someone seeking steadiness in a busy world.
If you’re not local, I’ll continue sharing tools and teachings through Basecamp - my online space for nervous system education, yoga, and recovery practices - so no matter where you are, you can stay connected to this work.
To everyone who has supported, shared, or simply read along this past year - thank you. Your presence has shaped this journey more than you know. Here’s to another year of learning, evolving, and coming home to ourselves.
With gratitude,
LeeAnn
